Video Stills
“To New Horizons” is composed from a series of archival footage and videos, from nationalist propaganda videos, to 1950’s/40’s construction tutorials, videos on how to survive apocalyptic scenarios, and futuristic videos that predicted a promising future. My exercise is close to a collage, reconfiguring and resignifying the meaning of both the image and the audio. It is an essay on (re)composing narratives and everyday gestures, through the lens of a contemporary gaze.
